Video Clips
A Rock Band or any Musician with their own genre and style, need media to promote their works. If Painters need exhibitions to show their artworks, Musician need Concerts, Radio Airplays, and Videoclips.
Throughoutr the years, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have made a lot of magnificent video clips/music videos. You name it, Fight Like a Brave, Give it Away, under the Bridge, were among those names.
A good video clip would've never existed without the help from good directors. Gus van Sant, Stephane Sednaoui, valerie Faris and jonathan Dayton, were among the special people who had their talents shared with the Chili Peppers.
you can find some of the bEst v-clip ever made by the Chili Peppers on What Hits!? and By The Way DVD.

What Is This ?
It was called Anthym. Then Anthony joined Flea, Jack, and Hillel on stage, and they did some Jam with Out in L.A. as their hit. Later they named Tony Flow and the Miraculousy Masters of Mayhem, and then the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

WHO, The
Legendary rockgroup formed in 1964 by Pete Townsend (lead guitar, vo), Roger Daltrey (lead vocals), John Enwistle (bass, vo). One of the Chili Peppers favorite bands.

Wild Thornberries, The
Nickelodeon Cartoon show, broadcasted in 1999 (?). It's a cartoon about 4 family members, the Thornberries, traveling the world for wildlife. A character, Eliza Thorberry (12) have a huge secret, she have the ability to talk with animals! When they went to kalimantan/Borneo, they found this kid, named Donnie. Donnie can't speak English, and all he can do was speak in Jibberish.
FLEA was the voice for Donnie. and it seems that the character was created for him!
The Thornberrys Movie was later released in 2002.

Woodstock
American Music Festival. With a lot of Controversy, lots of Beer, Lots of Barechested people, Mud People, Hotdogs, Marijuana, etc. Jimi Hendrix, Joe Cocker, the WHO, were some of the performers for the 1st Woodstock.
The Biggest music show on earth. Three Days of Music and Love (well don't forget Marijuana, free sex, and violence too!). First held in 1969.
25 years later, in 1994 the Red Hot Chili Peppers was one of the main performer for the show. They showed up with Huge Lightbulbs on their heads. and also Dave Navarro's first big show with the Chili Peppers.
1999 was the year for 3rd Woodstock, the Biggest yet. And The Red Hot CHili Peppers as the closing band for the show. Also a very good place to promote their 7th album, Californication. Woodstock 99 ended up in riot, The Chili Peppers were the one who got all the blame. Let's hear it from Anthony's version ; "Our perspective of Woodstock was pretty different from other people´s" Kiedis reflects later "Because we pulled up about an hour before we played and were driven to some remote dressing room, which was nowhere near the people or the stage. It was like some abstract concept of the show. When thousands of yards away we saw these huge plumes of fire we just thought: Oh this is like Lollapalooza, no big deal.We come offstage feeling good, and these guys start telling me I´ve got to go back out there and make people stop the fire. How? I did tell the crowd to be nice to the fire department and let them do their job. When we got back to Manhattan, I called my girlfriend and went to bed.I got up the next day, opened a newspaper and read that Woodstock was riot. I didn´t get it, because what I saw was a normal Festival crowd. Later I found out that the promoters had being over-charging the kids for food and water taking their own food and water off them when they came onto the site, and basically exploiting the kids. I was no wander they rioted -they deserve to riot- Then I started hearing nasty rumors about girls being molested and raped. I can only hope that they were rumors. If that did happened someone´s got to come up with a new way of putting on festival so it never happens again" - Kerrang UK

Y
Yoga
Physical and mental training created in India thousands of years ago. Based on the simple idea of taming your body to release your mind. It strengthens your inner organs and unifies your body with your mind. John Frusciante and Anthony Kiedis are two of the Peppers doing this training while touring. You can see some photos of John doing Yoga stance. You know what? They even had their own personal Yoga Teacher during the tour.

Yohanna
"The biggest reason why it felt so good making this album was that I fell in love with a beautiful woman" , Anthony kiedis on Yohanna. Yohanna was a Designer in Fashion, Anthony met her during the making process of Californication in 1998. No girl has ever really took a place in Anthony's heart. They broke up during the making of By The Way (2002). That's why most of the tracks in By The Way are Anthony's emotional expression to Yohanna.

:: 4 ReMASTERS ;
In tribute to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, one fo the most influential groups of all times and their 20th anniversary, first four releases: RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, FREAKY STYLEY, THE UPLIFT MOFO PARTY PLAN and MOTHER’S MILK will be reissued by their original label EMI on March 11 2003.

The four groundbreaking albums have been digitally re-mastered and packaged using the original artwork like the first vinyl releases- Plus: Rare bonus tracks, liner notes by Chili Pepper bassist Flea, new photos and memorabilia! The release of the self-titled RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS 1984, kick-started the Eighties with the release of a debut, which fused funk and rock with tremendous conviction and style.
In addition to the classic “True Men Don’t Kill Coyotes,” the reissue features five bonus tracks, including demo versions of “Get Up and Jump,” “Police Helicopter, Out in L.A.” and “Green Heaven,” along with “What It Is (a.k.a. Nina's Song)- the first RHCP song ever to be released on an album!”

Produced by legendary Parliament Funkadelic superfreak George Clinton and featuring the return of original guitarist Hillel Slovak, 1985’s classic FREAKY STYLEY includes a stunning version of Sly Stone’s “If You Want Me To Stay,” along with fan favorites such as “Jungle Man” and the quirky “Yertle the Turtle.” The reissue has four bonus tracks, two of which are demos of “Nevermind” and “Sex Rap,” along with the original instrumental almost-nine-minute-long version of “Freaky Styley,” a track previously unreleased and Millionaires Against Hunger.

Released in 1987, THE UPLIFT MOFO PARTY PLAN was the first and last album to feature all four original bandmembers/Fairfax high school classmates vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea, drummer Jack Irons and Hillel Slovak, who die under tragic circumstances in 1988. Produced by Michael Beinhorn , the album is arguably the Peppers’ best, featuring a scorching rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” the reggae-tinged “Love Trilogy” and the funk-splattered “Special Secret Song Inside.” The reissue includes two previously unreleased instrumental demos: “Behind The Sun” and “Me & My Friends.”

In 1989, the Peppers took their throbbing punk-funk to the mainstream with their critically acclaimed fourth album MOTHER’S MILK, which featured a blistering cover of the Stevie Wonder classic “Higher Ground”—a smash hit at both radio and MTV. The album also marked the debut of drummer Chad Smith and guitarist John Frusciante. The reissue includes live covers of Jimi Hendrix’s “Castles Made Of Sand” and “Crosstown Traffic” (the latter is previously unreleased). In addition, there’s the original long version of “Knock Me Down” (previously unreleased), the demo (with guitar track) version of “Salute To Kareem” (also previously unreleased) and Song That Made Us What We Are Today and an alternative version of Sexy Mexican Maid.
